Dharna (Concentration)
Dharna means concentration; most of us confuse Dharna to be meditation. Dharna involves focusing the mind on the desired object.

Pratyahara (Abstraction of Senses)
Abstraction of the mind from worldly objects is called Pratyahara. Mind and its attention are on the objects it perceives outside.

The Chakras
The chakras are psyche centers in the body along the spine. Actually it is very difficult to comprehend this unless one is exposed to the basic system of Vedic knowledge.

Kundalni
Kundalni is a subtle power; she lies dormant in each and every body. It is a cosmic power; it is in the form of a serpent and lies coiled up in the Muldhara Chakra.

Mudras
Mudras are advanced practices by which can lead to awakening of the chakras prana and Kundalni. These practices are best performed under ones Guru.

Bandhs and Mudras
Bandhs in the classical texts are incorporated with Mudras. These exercises stimulate the psychic centers in the body and assist in the awakening of the Kundalni Shakti that lies dormant in the body.

Pranayama
Prana is something very difficult to describe. It is equally difficult to understand what exactly is prana since it is something subtle it cannot be seen.

Asana
Yoga asana or postures are systematic exercises carried out for the purpose of keeping the mind and body fit for spiritual purposes.

Yama
Yama means discipline, self-control, systemization of habits and mind. This is an exercise of the mind and intellect, it is to be understood and put into constant practice.

Niyama
Yama and Niyama are interrelated. Niyama is absolute regulation of life style to suit a spiritual life.
